About Neil...

Neil Gibson is a Tasmanian blues, folk and roots musician based in North West Tasmania. He is best known for his heartfelt lyrics, guitar skills and his ability to take an audience collectively on a musical journey.
Predominantly performing as a solo artist, Neil’s style relies on his unique voice, adept to performing gutsy style blues pieces to softer compositions of love, loss and life. His fine musicianship is demonstrated through his ease of playing acoustic guitar both in the traditional sense and with slides.
In 2014, Neil released his first full length solo album, Leave A Light On, recorded at Canadian
guitarist and singer/songwriter Jeff Martin’s (Tea Party’s lead man) studio. Jeff invited Neil to collaborate with him to produce a five song EP. From that, Neil recorded a further four tracks for his solo album. Neil was promoted into the limelight of the Australian music festival touring circuit where he was asked to support, and perform alongside, some of Australia’s best blues, roots and folk musicians including Diesel, Jeff Lang, Mick Thomas, Phil Manning, Jeff Martin (The Tea Party) and Sarah Mcleod (Superjesus).
With 20 years in the Australian music industry, Neil has forged a reputation both as a brilliant solo performer and as front man for the Neil Gibson Band throughout Australia. He has played at numerous music festivals including the Noosa Long Weekend, Peregian Originals Concert in Queensland, Noosa North Shore Festival in Queensland, and Forth Valley Blues Festival Tasmania.
He has won the 2007 Committees Choice Solo Acoustic Blues Artist Award and in 2015 won the Damien Greenwood Memorial Tasmanian Blues band of the year Award at the Forth Valley Blues festival.
