About Bruce...

Born at Botany Bay, Sydney 1949.  Moved to Tasmania in 1980

He became a poet and artist because all the good jobs were taken

Has performed his poetry at ARTS, FOLK  and FOREST Festivals.

At Health and Education Conferences.

At Peace Festivals, Climate crisis rallies, Refugee support rallies.

At universities and schools, clubs, pubs and cafes. And at the two Opera Houses.

Winner of the Tasmanian Poetry Slam 2008

Invited Guest Poet at the Tasmanian Poetry Festival  Oct. 2024

He has also held poetry and drawing workshops with teenage offenders, disability groups and with unemployed workers

Author of 6 booklings of Poetry and Drawings and a CD of spoken word.

                     As an ARTIST he has had 3 solo exhibitions of his drawings in the last 6 years

                     As a WAGE EARNER, he has worn many hats:

builders’ labourer, fruit picker, taxi driver, shearing-shed hand, tree planter, draftsman,

teacher assistant, bush carpenter, school-bus driver, artist-in-schools.
